Medicare Supplements

Medicare Supplement Plans are different than Medicare Advantage Plans. A Medicare Supplement, also known as a Medigap Plan, is offered by a private insurance company, to cover the 20% of expenses not covered by Medicare Part A and Part B.

Medicare Supplement Plans are a more robust benefits package than a Medicare Advantage Plan. Medicare Supplements help to pay, an Individuals share of co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance. Thereby limiting an individual’s maximum of pocket on yearly medical expenses.

There are Advantages of purchasing a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) versus a Medicare Advantage. First, you are not limited to specific networks, allowing you the ability to choose your own doctors and hospitals nationwide. There are no referrals needed to see a specialist. As well as fewer to no out of pocket expenses (Supplement G) for Medicare covered services.
